VICTIMS DIVIDE AND CONQUER HC1232 HC5032 (April 5, 2006) More info about this item
Third full length from Sweden's Victims. This is one of my favorite bands of recent years because they flawlessly mix my two favorite styles of music, Early 80's American Hadcore and Swedish Crust. This record rises to the challenge of mixing two such potent styles with great vigor. Really hot memorable riffs and smoking guitar work from Jon Lindqvist (also of Accursed, Nasum, Saayadina etc) and Johan's vocals sound like he has been gargling with napalm. This LP reminds me of a lot of the first wave of LPs from hardcore bands in the early 80s. In 81 you had this wave of great raw and fast 7"s from the new hardcore bands. By 84 most of these bands had developed their style and developed enough songs for a full length and had the experience to enter a quality studio and record a solid and memorable LP. Victims on this release have reached a point where skill and experience have culminated in one totally raging track after another, without changing their sound, selling out or crossing over.

VICTIMS IN BLOOD HC1222 HC5022 (August 2004) More info about this item
Crushing second LP from one of Sweden's top Hardcore bands. Follows up the split LP with From Ashes Rise with more unrelenting power. Victims sound is obviously compared to Skitsystem, Wolpbrigade and other d-beat ragers from Scandinavia. However, I feel that Victims have more of a solid old school hardcore/thrash back bone whilst the aforementioned bands derive a lot more of their influence from Crust and Death Metal. Victims deliver 18 pummeling tracks of rage and power that will not disappoint any fan of the genre. Excellent production by Miezko of Nasum at Soundlab Studios. LP Version comes with a nice poster as well as a lyric sheet.

FROM ASHES RISE/VICTIMS SPLIT HC1211 HC5011 (June 2003) More info about this item
I have been a fan of both of these bands since their first releases. When the opportunity arose to work with both of them at once I was eager to make it happen. From Ashes Rise plays dark, slightly metallic hardcore that is not unlike early His Hero Is Gone mixed with Scandinavian hardcore like Skitystem and 80's UK crust like Antisect. Drawing on those influences From Ashes Rise has moved this sound into it's own territory so to simply label it "Tennessee style" hardcore would be oversimplifying their sonic progression. From Ashes Rise recorded at Polymorph in the Bay Area and I can safely say this was the most expensive recording ever released on Havoc, but the Production is intense and flawless. From Ashes Rise previously released a 7" and 2 LPs on Partners in Crime and Feral Ward. They followed up the split with the Nightmares LP on Jade Tree/Havoc. Victims from Sweden play aggressive fast Scandinavian hardcore not unlike early Skitsystem or Wolfbrigade. You can hear the influence of early Swedish hardcore like Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers and Crude SS mixed with the heavier sounds of 90's crust core, but there is also some influence from the early 80's US hardcore sound. This recording was produced by Mieszko at studio Soundlab. Victims have a 7", a split 7" and an LP on Yellow Dog/Deadalive and later released the Victims..In Blood LP/CD on Havoc. Cover artwork is an original piece from Pushead. From concept to completion this has been one of the most protracted and expensive projects ever undertaken by Havoc records. This release was greatly anticipated and was well worth the wait.

VARIOUS ARTISTS WARVICTIMS/SISTEMAS DE ANIQUILACION HC2769 (2000) More info about this item
Warvictims always deliver the goods, true to the game Swedish raw punk. Sistemas was an unknown to me, but they play some spot on Peruvian D beat with something of an early Doom vibe.
WARVICTIMS DOGS OF WAR HC2658 (2000) More info about this item
More excellent D beat from this Swedish band. This band has a lot of release out but always seems to have a high level of quality. One of my favorite current bands.
VARIOUS ARTISTS FLYBLOWN/WARVICTIMS HC2587 (2000) More info about this item
Only got a handful of these, absolute top shelf d beat raw punk from Sweden and the UK. If you live (or die) for D beat this is your jam.
VICTIMS KILLER HC1240 (2000) More info about this item
Back in Print! Fourth LP from Sweden's Victims. This is on Combat Rock Industries label of Finland, with N. American distribution by Havoc. Overseas please order from CRI, not Havoc. Victims have been the front of Swedish hardcore for many years mixing traditional Swedish D Beat and Crust sounds with more straight forward American hardcore influences. This LP has all the tight and crushing arrangements you'd expect from this crew. A few more songs leaning towards the "d beat rocknroll" end of hardcore, but over all very much in the same punishing tradition of the last two LPs.
VICTIMS SKELETON WITH GUN HCTV02 More info about this item
