Finally re issued on vinyl, the stunning second 12" from Naked Raygun and to my ears their best by far. This one has a unique sound all it's own while still being truly inspired and catchy hardcore. This is an all time rager and one of the top ten hardcore records from the Midwest from the 80's. If you aren't familiar with this band, this is the essential record, and if you like what you hear pick up Basement Screams as well. As with the re issue of Basement Screams this is deluxe packaging, nice color vinyl and has bonus tracks which are pretty unessential.

Gay straight edge from Boston. At first I thought it was kind of silly, like Gayrilla Biscuits or something, but the music is actually a lot faster, harder and more intense than most bands claiming Straight Edge these days. Another classic of 1980's Finnish punk finally re issued. The vinyl version of this came and went really fast, but we got some of the CDs from Propaganda in Finland. More 77 punk influenced than later bands on Propaganda this is still classic 80's Finnish hardcore punk.

Under rated 1980's hardcore from Virginia. This bands LP came out after most people stopped listening to hardcore (around 1985) and if it had come out a few years earlier I think a lot of people would be more into this band. The original is quite rare and has cult status with collectors, this has finally been re issued on CD with some bonus tracks.

Third and best 7" by this band by far. I saw these guys play with Regulations in Ontario and was impressed. This 7" is heads above their last two in my opinion. Just good raw hardcore punk like early Black Flag. Simple aggressive and pissed off songs. This band is a real sleeper as I think they are known mostly only in Canada and Europe.

Lots of good bands have been coming out of Spain lately. I found out about this band because No Way Records is doing a 7" for them soon. Melodic but powerful hardcore punk, taking some cues from early 80's so cal bands, some old euro bands and recent Danish and Swedish outfits.

Total barn burner here. Rajoitus have decided to call it quits after and long and somewhat under appreciated career. But this swan song LP is a pure rager. Fast and precise swedo-finnish thrashcore that manages to hold your attention with song after memorable song (as opposed to a lot of fast core that sounds like just a wall of noise) Great vocals, and guitar leads. I've been flipping this one and replaying it all week. Recommended.
