COMES NO SIDE HC2752 (2000) More info about this item
Yet another European re press of a Japanese hardcore classic. This LP has been cult with collectors for some time, aggressive Japanese hc/punk with some of the best female vocals ever in the genre. After Tam from Sacrilege, I think these are my favorite female punk vocals, so raw and crazy. Nicely done re issue on Hirohito Era Hardcore records from Germany.
LOTUS FUCKER S/T HC2751 (2000) More info about this item
Raw and fuzzed out hardcore in the Japanese/early Disorder style (think Confuse) from Maryland.
GISM DOCUMENT ONE 1982-1984 HC2750 (2000) More info about this item

VARIOUS WELCOME TO 1984 HC2749 (2000) More info about this item
Back in print, to my mind this is the best compilation record EVER! MRR outdid themselves back in 1984 releasing this LP. The essential document of ealry 80's "international" hardcore. MRR asked me to write something for their website about this on the occasion of the re issue so I penned this overenthusiastic missive. It’s hard for me to believe that it’s been 25 years since this LP was originally released. Yet here I am at 40, still super excited about a record which blew me away at age 15. 1984 was a sinister and prophetic year for a generation that grew up in the shadow of the Cold War and was weaned on the dystopian visions of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. Jeff Bale’s original liner notes point out the role of the elite in manipulating public opinion, and suppressing dissent is often manifested in the ideological and psychological sphere, rather than by brute force. Fast forward 25 years and we can see that Orwell’s vision of a futuristic Stalinist police state was crude, but his warning about the manipulation of thought and twisting of the truth was remarkably prescient. The original punk movement of the late ’70s was shocking, loud, obnoxious and a break from the conformist malaise of that decade. As the bleak economic realities of the ’80s dawned, the radical right and corporate interests launched the Thatcher/Reagan “Capitalist Revolution” that was to result in great economic and social dislocation. As society swung to the right and embraced more conservative views, the slightly absurd and theatrical elements of ’70s punk were jettisoned for music of pure protest, energy and outrage: Hardcore! Maximum Rock n Roll was the international voice of this new movement, one that embraced radical social change and fast, powerful blasts of raw thrashing punk that made the bands of the ’70s seem tame and restrained. It’s long been my opinion the Welcome to 1984 is the best compilation LP of all time. While it lacks the regional focus of runners up such as Flex Your Head or This Is Boston, Not LA, it documents not a local scene, but a worldwide movement. This movement was spreading, a virus of resistance to the conformity of the era that has continued to spread to the corners of the globe. The bands and songs selected by the MRR staff gave an impressive overview of this new and radical movement. 23 bands from 17 countries, this diverse assemblage all shared a power and urgency that truly captured the spirit of the times and the energy of the movement. When I bought this record at age 15 I was barely aware of punk outside my hometown and the UK. Reading MRR and blasting this record over and over opened up my eyes to the international hardcore movement and exposed me to many bands that have become life long favorites. There are some truly epic moments on this record, the bass intro to BGK’s “Computer Control,” the sing-along chorus of Kidnap’s “No SS,” and most importantly, the raw screams of Raw Power’s anthem “Fuck Authority.” When I first heard this record I knew I had found what I was looking for. As the Cold War ended and the War on Terror began, the elite found a rationale to extend their manipulation of public opinion and ideological control. While the hardcore subculture has endured, and spread, many complain that it has lost much of the energy and urgency of the early days. A spin of this record is a shot of this energy, pure and unadulterated.
DOOM FUCK PEACEVILLE HC2748 (2000) More info about this item
Back in print, this time with a proper gatefold cover. Double LP re recording of all the seminal early Doom material. If you were around in the late 80's you remember how this band took hardcore by storm at the very time a lot bands sold out and started playing college rock or speed metal. Just raw and brutal heavy hardcore in the Discharge tradition, but still a progenitor of the modern crust sound. The band was unhappy with their treatment by Peaceville Records and re recorded all their early catalog for this double LP now back in print on Twisted Chords Records of Germany. Sick!
VARIOUS HITLER SS/TAMPAX HC2745 (2000) More info about this item
Re issue of this Italian cult classic. One of those rare 1979 records that bridges the gap between 77 punk and early 80's hardcore. You know these songs from Killed By Death comps now get a great re pro of the original single without paying horror prices.
ANTISECT OUT FROM THE VOID HC2744 (2000) More info about this item
Outstanding! Re press of this classic from 1985, recorded at the point where UK anarcho punk/hardcore was taking on a metal influence and laying the groundwork for crust. Along with Sacrilege and Hellbastard this is a pretty seminal recording. Antisect started out with more of a anarcho punk/hardcore sound but this release saw them embrace metal like few bands had before them. I remember buying this when it came and thinking it was something really new and exciting.
RATOS DE PORAO CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA HC2743 (2000) More info about this item
I have shied away from carrying CDs of late due to their poor sales. But I could not pass on this classic. One of the top three hardcore/punk records to come out of Latin America, RDP's early 80's LP perfectly captures the Brazilian hardcore sound. Think Discharge/Varukers but with more anger and urgency. So brutal.

AFTER THE BOMBS TERMINAL FILTH STENCH BASTARD HC2737 (2000) More info about this item

DERROTA ASKO INFINITO HC2733 (2000) More info about this item
US pressing of this LP that originally came out on Trabuc Records. Fast hardcore from Valencia Spain, one of many Spanish bands that is tear it up lately. These guys mix crust with straight ahead hardcore and a little melody, perhaps some mixture of From Ashes Rise with more traditional hardcore punk styles. Touring the USA soon.
DISCHARGE DISENSITISE HC2731 (2000) More info about this item
Discharge is my all time favorite band. While I was a little skeptical at their comeback, this is a pretty sick record. Rat is probably the only person qualified to take Cal's place on vocals, and the rest of the pieces all fall into place, the sick riffs, the over the top bass lines. This won't replace "why" in your collection, but it's totally solid and proof the old masters still have some fight left in them.
VARUKERS KILLING MY SELF TO LIVE HC2730 (2000) More info about this item
Newest LP from one of the UK's longest running hardcore punk bands.
MALINHEADS PROGEPOGT AUS SPANDAU “HOAX” HC2729 (2000) More info about this item
Excellent, here's a re issue of a great German HC bands that was probably only known by a few collectors outside Germany until now. Raw and urgent thrashing early 80's hardcore, more in line with Scandinavian bands than the more punk influenced stuff associated with the early 80's German scene.
DARK AGES VICIOUS LIE HC2728 (2000) More info about this item
Here's a great record by a not very well known band. Great early 80's Midwest style hardcore with really good vocals and hard charging songs. This reminds me a lot of 7" era Die Kruezen. This band has no hype, is not on a hip label and is from Kansas. But if you dig beneath all the internet and ebay hype around a lot of popular bands right now, they don't have much to offer. This band is off the radar, but smokes a lot of much more popular bands. Their first 7" was pretty hot too.
CONTRAST ATTITUDE APOCALYPTIC RAW ASSAULT HC2727 (2000) More info about this item

CROSS STITCHED EYES II HC2724 (2000) More info about this item
UK anarcho punk in the tradition of 80's bands notably Flux of Pink Indians, Rudimentary Peni and maybe more proto crust bands like Antisect.
