Minnesota Punk Discography
(note:I started this in 2001 and never finished it, this was just a first draft, but it's better than nothing)


Here is the first draft of the Minnesota Punk Discography. It is my hope that this will grow to become a permanent resource for record collectors and music historians

This discography includes vinyl releases only! Stone me if you like but I am a vinyl purist. I have started Appendix One for Cassette releases and Appendix two for CD releases. Someone else who wants to take on this project can go right ahead.

By way of disclaimer I am mainly into fast hardcore so I've probably over looked a great deal of noise, new wave and post punk sort of stuff. If you feel a record should be included you are welcome to submit it.

Most important if you make a submission, please send it to me separately as an e mail or letter and do not edit this document and send it back to me! I'd never be able to find the details. Please follow the format I've used and include as much specific pressing info as you can.

Bastards and Cows info taken from the back of the Scumbait comps. To tell the truth I don't know much about those bands. Halo of Flies info might be incomplete as well. Somebody help me out with Babes in Toyland here too. Also omitted were late 80's early 90's noisy stuff on Am Rep, Big Money etc. such as Janitor Joe, Guzzard, Superball 63 etc. and much mid 80's New Wave/Alternative rock such as Soul Asylum, later Replacements, Suburbs, Run Westy Run etc. I never really considered much of this to be punk rock, but if you think it merits inclusion then submit it.

John Kass has done the research on all the late 70's early 80's new wave singles, Break'er label, early Twin Tone and such. A lot of this stuff isn't really punk music but is of great interest to collectors so was included.
