Painting the covers

Painting the covers

I used two different kinds of paint. First I had some automotive paint that was laying around. This stuff was great, it went on smooth in one coat and dried to a really hard, shiny finish. But I ran out of that stuff pretty fast. Next up was some gloss enamel paint like you'd find at any hardware store. This went on really poorly at first. But I thinned it out a lot, like 2 parts thinner to 3 parts paint. Then it went on good and smooth and dried to a nice finish.

I'm not sure if you would want to use automotive paint, but I would recommend using an oil paint with this kind of sprayer. If you were going to use some kind of latex you should probably use an airless sprayer like I used on the Regulations covers.
